Being frustrated and restless with the deceptive politics of Congress party vis-a-vis the issue of separate statehood for Telangana, Naresh Goud (28) Vice president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Choppadandi mandal in Karim Nagar, Andhra Pradesh committed suicide three days back.

He was an active, enthusiastic, skillful and motivating worker of the party. He was able to create large number of workers and thereby strengthen the party in the area. Very recently he had undertaken a house to house contact programme in order to reach out to every single person in the mandal.

His father is a toddy tapper. The family was dependent on the father’s profession of toddy tapping and does not have any other occupational avenue including agriculture. Naresh used to help his father in his activities. Today his family is utterly shattered and inconsolable.

Shri. Muralidhar Rao, BJP National General Secretary, while addressing the people in Naresh’s village and later the media, blamed the Congress party for the suicide. He said that the government at the centre is directly responsible for this loss of life. The government cannot escape from the wrath of the people of Telangana.

Shri Rao said that the entire north Telangana is facing serious crisis in agriculture. Not only farmers, but people from all walks of life including weaving, beedi making and other occupations are committing suicides on a large scale. Thousands of people from this area, in order to escape this crisis and to obtain a better life, have migrated to Middle East. But unfortunately, they end up with another miserable life in the Middle East with minimal income and later, unable to repay loans taken for going abroad, gradually seek the option of committing suicide.

Pointing out to such a pathetic condition of the people of Telangana under Congress rule, Shri Muralidhar Rao stated that the BJP is the only alternative to Congress, from national level to Telangana.

He said that the real tribute to Naresh is spending all our efforts in throwing out Congress from power and establishing the NDA regime in Centre. This alone will solve the issue of separate statehood for Telangana and end the misery of the people.
